Kenya Ranked Sixth Most Naturally Beautiful Country in the World

A new study from money.co.uk has ranked Kenya the sixth world’s most naturally beautiful country in the world with a natural beauty score of 6.70 /10. The study was based on the number of volcanoes, mountain ranges, coral reefs and other beautiful natural things per 100,000 square kilometres in each country. The research also totted up the number of protected areas in each place.

Indonesia took the crown home as the most naturally beautiful country with a score of 7.77/10. The Southeast Asia country is home to over 17,000 incredible islands and over 50,000 km of coastline. New Zealand came second with a natural beauty score of 7.27/10, and Colombia third with 7.16/10. Kenya’s neighbour, Tanzania, came fourth with a natural beauty score of 6.98/10 followed by Mexico with 6.96 in number 5.

Kenya boasts eight volcanoes, five ultra-prominent mountains, 630 square kilometres of coral reef area, 411 total number of protected areas, 536 kilometres coastline length, 170,887 square kilometres of tropical forest area and 28 glaciers.

According to the report, Tanzania has three volcanoes, eleven ultra-prominent mountains, 3,580 square kilometres of coral reef area, 836 total number of protected areas, 1,424 kilometres coastline length, 387,944 square kilometres of tropical forest area and 75 glaciers.

Also on the top 10 list was India, France, Papua New Guinea and Comoros.

Malaysia was in 24th place, followed by Eritrea in 24th and Uganda in 42nd. The UK did not feature in the top 50.
