Malo Stables offers 1 - 3 hours of horse rides into Kibiko Forest & Plains from Karen's suburb in Nairobi. Malo Stables is also the first warmblood stud farm in Kenya, breeding pedigree sports horses with the best genetics from Denmark, Holland & Germany.
Enjoy picturesque views of Ngong Hills as you ride from Karen into Dagoretti Forest. This is the perfect adventure for beginners and experienced horse riders. The routes vary according to the ability of the riders and the season. There is an excellent opportunity for long trots and canters when the footing allows. Get professional training on highly educated horses competing and placing in national shows.
Malo Stables also do breakfast and sundowner rides on request.
What are the charges for horse riding?
For Non-Residents, $60 per hour at the current rate, and for EA Residents, Ksh 6,000 per hour (2 hr rides or more only. Min. 4 riders). Pre-paid packages of 10 hrs in the forest cost Ksh 55,000.
A 50% deposit to secure your ride – it can be paid via Mpesa, bank transfer, or dropped off in cash.

Jul 30, 2023 at 9:15 pmNew trainer Nicole over-charges for her time, absolutely not worth the drive to Karen to ride; she charges three times more than similar stables in Nairobi and that is not right, I stopped going. Naivasha has much better horses, professional guides, great prices and abundance of wildlife to enjoy while riding.
