Located north of Nanyuki, near the Lolldaiga Hills, Enasoit is a luxury tented camp in Kenya’s wildlife-rich Laikipia highlands. The camp is an enchanting exclusive property, catering for only one group of guests at a time and offering a uniquely private safari experience. Enasoit guests have the camp and surrounding wildlife reserve all to themselves – an ideal retreat for families and groups of friends.
An Enasoit safari offers remarkable wildlife encounters and an array of exciting ways to experience the wilderness. One of the most distinctive features of the camp is the extraordinary wildlife activity at the waterhole, located just in front of the main Mess Tent – the perfect viewpoint for wildlife viewing from the comfort of an armchair.
Guests can explore the reserve on horseback, on foot, or by vehicle, always accompanied by one of our experienced guides, or they can watch the wildlife wander past from their verandah - enjoying both the tranquillity and thrill of a safari without seeing any other visitors.
There are an array of activities at Enasoit. These include:
One of the unique and outstanding features of Enasoit Camp is its proximity to wildlife. Wildlife highlights in the camp include the African Wild Dog, Reticulated Giraffe, Lion, Cheetah, Savannah Elephant, Grevy’s Zebra, Black Rhino, and gazelles. There are over 550 recorded bird species in Laikipia, including ten globally threatened species.
Enasoit is a critical wildlife corridor within the Laikipia ecosystem, key for the free and safe movement of many of these iconic species.
Enasoit Camp has six tented cottages and one family tent with two interconnecting rooms. The rooms are situated around the waterhole, attracting a dynamic array of wildlife, easily visible from the tent verandahs. The tents are carefully erected using canvas and local materials, combining the romance of living ‘under canvas’ with the comfort of a permanent structure. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom, wooden floors, a sitting area with a fireplace, and a private verandah.
Enasoit Camp is easily accessed by a 45-minute flight or a 4-hour drive from Nairobi. Enasoit has its airstrip (a 5-minute drive from Enasoit Camp) where private charter flights can land, and there are daily scheduled flights to Nanyuki (a 1-hour drive from Enasoit Camp). Guests arriving by helicopter can land directly at Enasoit Camp.
How many people does Enasoit Camp accommodate at a go?
Enasoit Camp accommodates 16 guests in 8 tented cottages. Additional capacity can be arranged upon request. Two thatched cottage rooms at the Pool House (5 min drive from Enasoit Camp) can be used as extra accommodation for larger groups.
