Samburu

Overview

Samburu is the northerly gem globally reputed and associated with Born Free film, camel racing, breathtaking tourism sites, colorful cultures among other attractions. It is located in an arid area directly north of Mt Kenya and is mainly inhabited by the Samburu people. The Samburu people are closely related to the Maasai and they have retained their traditional way of life as nomadic pastoralists, depending on their survival on their livestock. Samburu women wear similar colorful bead necklaces to the Maasai.</p> <p>Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Shaba National Reserve, and Samburu National Reserve are a few top places to visit in the region.
