Central Highlands & Laikipia

The Central Highlands & Laikipia is the melting pot of cultures, including Kenya's largest tribe, the Kikuyu. The region is also home to the Maasai, Samburu, Meru, Mukugodo, Europeans, Pokot and Turkana. Mount Kenya rises dramatically in the heart of the highlands, its icy peaks glinting white. Two of Kenya's most intriguing national parks: Aberdare National Park and Meru National Park, lie in its shadow. The Laikipia Plateau stretches from the Rift Valley to the slopes of Mt. Kenya. It is a scene for some of the best wildlife watching anywhere in Kenya.
